Engineering Management

Scope: This program is designed to provide recognition to those programs that excel in offering education at the Master’s level that meet the rigorous standards of ASEM. It also provides an excellent mechanism to assess the state of an existing Master’s program relative to ASEM standards and is especially useful for new Master’s programs just getting started. The certification process is applicable all Master’s level programs in engineering management or closely related programs such as technology management.

Value: The rigorous standards used by ASEM to certify graduate programs in engineering management are built on the Engineering Management Body of Knowledge and represent the state-of-the-art of what engineering managers should know upon graduating with a Master’s degree in the field. Certification represents outstanding achievement in quality and content by those programs who achieve this distinction, and it places them among the elite in the country in offering their graduate programs. Certified programs are recognized on the ASEM website, and those programs can use the ASEM logo in their program promotions. Students can be assured that their education from a certified program contains the fundamental knowledge necessary for success as a future engineering manager. In addition, students graduating with a Master’s degree from an ASEM certified graduate program are eligible for immediate instatement as an Associate Engineering Manager (AEM) with application and paid fee.
