What is engineering management?

Engineering management is the art and science of planning, organizing, allocating resources, and directing and controlling activities which have a technological or systems component. Engineers whose job requires them to assume management duties must solve complex problems that require expertise and training in these principles.

ASEM provides a variety of services related to education, training and certification. For those seeking advanced degrees in our field, ASEM certifies MS programs that meet rigorous standards of excellence.For professional development, ASEM provides professional development training through an integrated set of modules that can be accessed by individuals or corporate organizations.

Culminating our development programs is the Engineer Manager Professional Certification available at two levels. Our training and certification are based on the Engineering Management Body of Knowledge for which we are the lead professional society. If you want to advance your technical management career, ASEM can provide you with the means to do that!

Training organizations have the opportunity to participate in the training and certification programs offered by ASEM by becoming certified knowledge providers. Once certified, training organizations are enabled to deliver ASEM sanctioned training and certification examinations as  representatives of ASEM.
